5 stars Compared to my other reviews I am not going to give an extended opinion about 'Supernova',just give the pros and cons and compare it with their previous work 'delusional reality'. 'Delusional reality' was more aggressive and straight while remaining progressive of course. In my opinion,'Supernova' has evolved their sound making it more complex, progressive with some jazz elements here and there. When I first heard the homonymous song I could not believe my ears. A very proggy mood, atmospheric and mr.Huffman singing with quite diversified vocals according to his past. Some new elementes that I consider positive are: -better bass work(at least the bass is more noticeable) by mr.Malitz -keyboards solo are more often and remind sometimes mr.Rudess I think but without losing their unique style -more atmospheric sound -more complex compositions -supreme guitar work in songs like 'Icons of Evil' and 'The final act' Of course every thing has its negatives which are: -less aggressive(musically) songs which is not so annoying but I think that aggression fits with Mindwarp Chamber music as it was presented in ;delusional reality' -some may say that they copy Dream Theater in some parts even if I quite disagree -those who like straight songs may be disappointed, but we are talking about progressive music, aren't we?

To sum up,maybe the best progressive album this year.Kudos to Mindwarp Chamber for evolving their sound. As a result,if I rated 'delusional reality; with 4 stars, this work cannot be rated with less than 5 stars.

4 stars Second album named Supernova by this excellent prog metal band released not long ago in 2010. Well I must confess I'm a big fan of the band, realy one of the best prog metal band I've ever heared. The first one was for me a killer album in this field, this second album is no less then an essential album in prog metal realm. Another superb, fresh catchy release that will please any fan of the genre. I was knocked out of my socks again, Supernova kick ass with every single piece. Even they have now two new members the guitar and the bass, the aproach of the music is the same as on previous album, strong and tight musicianship, inventive passages, killer and fresh instrumental arrangements and above all an fabulous vocalist. This band needs aserious attention , because they deliver some of the best if not the best prog metal from today, realy they shine in every single aspect . Each track is mindblowing, the keybords melting with the guitar as rearely I've heard latley in this bussines, and I mean excellent and very fresh arrangements, not some never ending riffs over some boring vocal passages like many bands from today offers. The drums are complex, very intelligent. I will not extract a piece to be the best because all are superb and damn good. 4.5 for this album, nearly a masterpiece, a kinda rare thing to the progressive metal bands from today. Recommended, both albums, Mindwarp Chamber done it again big time, realy a superb and one of the finest bands around in this genre. Hands down for this band and respect. They need a much more recognition from the listners.
