4 stars Hungarian project WET RABBIT is the creative vehicle of composer and musician Zoltan Sostai. "Of Clocks and Clouds" is the first studio album to be released under that moniker, initially released on Bandcamp in 2015, with a CD edition that followed in 2016.

Mainly atmospheric laden and cinematic in scope, this perhaps slightly odd blend of elements is a well made one. How strong an appeal it will have among a progressive rock interested audience I cannot tell, but I find it a worthwhile creation that certainly merits a check. Liberal minded fans of artists like Vangelis and Jarre that don't mind some pop music elements in their music would probably be my chosen target audience for this album.

2 stars Wet Rabbit is the project name of Hungarian multi-instrumentalist Zoltan Sostai, and on this concept album he provides the vocals, guitar, drums and synthesisers while Kinga Szabo provides some piano parts. The album is apparently loosely based on ideas about indeterminism, fallibilism and open thinking developed by Austrian-British philosopher Karl Popper. It is especially dedicated to the future artificially intelligent being based on Popper's work on human understanding. Musically this appears to be an attempt to combine Eighties style electronica with progressive rock and pop. It is incredibly dated in the sounds being used, with synths that are more in common with The Human League and OMD than Vangelis or Jean Michel Jarre.

There are also issues with the vocals, which aren't really strong enough to take on the lead. The result is an album that really doesn't have a great deal going for, it, and will probably not find favour in any of the camps he is trying to bring together.
