2 stars Time Shall Tell is the first official release from Swedish Death metal/ progressive metal band Therion. Therion had recorded a few demos before releasing Time Shall Tell which is a four song EP.

The style on Time Shall Tell is brutal old school Swedish death metal. Pretty simple but still with enough twists to keep it interesting if you like this style. The music is ultra brutal with some of the greatest growling vocals Iīve heard in a while. Very effectful. The four songs: Time Shall Tell, Dark Eternity, Asphyxiate With Fear and A Suburb to Hell are more or less in the same vein. If you know early outputs by bands such as Entombed, Carnage and Dismember youīll know what kind of style Iīm talking about.

The EP is produced by legendary Swedish producer Tomas Skogsberg and recorded in the even more legendary Sunlight studio in Stockholm Sweden.

The musicianship is pretty good, but on the other hand this is an early effort from the band and it does show a couple of times during the EP.

Time Shall Tell probably wonīt excite very many visitors on PA and it might not even be very interesting for fans of newer Therion but for the few of us who loves old school Swedish death metal this is a treat. Raw and unpolished ( I canīt stop my head from banginī). Itīs a fan thing though and Iīll rate it 2 stars.
