SPECIAL COLLABORATOR Honorary Collaborator
4 stars This one is a collaborative work between the two italian artists Mushy and Alessandro Adriani (aka Peter M.) Next to various live peformances / exhibition / cinematic sonorization for trash film art, the duet get the idea to publish an entire effort based on the seminal and mystical movie "Fando and Lis" (released by the legendary A. Jodorowsky). The two sound performers intentionnaly focused their soundscapes on unusual / paralogical moods and atmospheres. The result reveals highly hypnagogic vibes sustained by a delicate study on metabolical sound waves, echoing voices. The release starts with the amazingly sonic and schyzoid "acte I", based on immersive hypno loops, molecular noises and magnetic voices. Acte II develops a menacing-toxic industrial ambience within cloudy frequences, resonant metallic pulses and somnambulic effects. acte III delivers a cinematically charged ambience, featuring delicate floating synth textures, sensual echoing voices in the distance. Deep, dense and obsessional. Hard to classify this album but the hauntingly isolationist / gloomy ambience and the catchy phrases of repetitive motives are not so far from the "confusing" industrial avant gardism of Throbbing Gristle or Alvars Orkester with the exception that this effort features much more emphasise on emotive sequences and lo-fi keys. An important contribution into the genre and above all a crepuscular-contemplative dome. A limited edition within a luxurious artisanal packaging.
