3 stars I'm not a movie fanatic and as often happens when I speak of soundtracks, I haven't seen the movie. Sometimes it's a handicap as a track can have a meaningstrictly related to the images that it comments, but sometimes not knowing the movie means that one can comment the music without being influenced by external elements.

With Vangelis both the situations are valid, specially in the periods in which he has been more active and his music has elements distinctive of the specific period.

In this case we are at the beginning of the 90s and the sound is that of albums like "City", "Direct" and "Voices". Even a "Japanese" track with frying food and dishes in the back sounds more like "City" than like "Blade Runner", and is also one of the album's highlights.

The bad is that this is a proper soundtrack, made to comment images, and this means that even extremely good musical ideas are not developed as they are aimed to a specific scene.

The best moments are those more dark ambient oriented, like "Obsession", "Strange Attractions" and "Revenge"( another highlight) but also the jazzy things like "Type Writing" and "Jazzy" are good.

In the end, this is an averagely good album, non-essential because the ideas are not completely exploited, however it's enjoyable enough, specially in its darkest moments.
