PROG REVIEWER
3 stars Hans Spitzen - short Spitzen is a dutch muzician, better known for being member of dutch neo prog band Flamborough Head with contribution on guitar and keyboards. His first solo album Fingeprints was released in 2015 under Spitzen name and is a fulmination of 25 years career so far. The pieces from here were composed between 1989 and present where Hans Spitzen done everything from vocal parts, bass lines, keyboards and guitars. This is more then pleasent release with a clear direction towards neo prog where his skills, specially on keyboards and guitar are inspired and great, an example is the excellent piece and the best from here No Strings Attached - top notch playing by Spitzen where the keyboards trully shine, as the title implies no guitars or bass, only keyboards and drums, beautiful constructed. Another worthy one is the personal The Time Of My Life, smooth vocal lines and elegant arrangements all under melodic side of neo prog , maybe with influences here and there of symphonic prog atmosphere. All in a ll a decent album with some nice elegant passages, nothing over the top but pleasent most of the time , I think desearvs 3 stars rounded to 3.5, I like it from start to finish.
