3 stars Featuring four seasoned musicians from the disbanded legendary occult rock band The Devil's Blood, this is a promising newcomer group from the Netherlands. However, probably it still may not be more than a onetime project for them. It all began when the newborn band was supposed to play at the Roadburn Festival in 2019. This due to a special occasion, the 5th anniversary of former band leader Selim Lemouchi's death. But then it gradually developed a life of its own, finally leading into this album. We will see if something more is to come, of course this also depends on how the followers and listeners react on this album. Here we go .... there is a strong stoner respectively heavy psychedelic vibe available. And they definitely are underway on progressive rock paths here. Due to the voice of Selim's sister Farida the music occasionally comes in the vein of Drahk Van Trip, A Formal Horse or Acolyte, to name a few.

The driving title track immediately sets an exclamation mark. Here we have a compact sound with dominating guitars, a really entertaining composition. The hypnotic stamping rock'n'roller Formless Hands still makes my day when listening to this album. In between they are jamming a lot. One or two may cry OBSOLETE!, I find it simply amazing. Death Is includes wonderful guitar appearance again, definitely another highlight. When thinking about derserving the attribute essential, well, for me the song collection yet sounds a bit too single-tracked during the whole course. However, 'Through The Hollow' is a recommended album in any case. 3.5 stars ... and the devil's blood is here with me ...
