One and a half hour playing time approximately. Concerning the sheer amount of song material available in this case PARADIGM BLUE alternatively could have split this into separate albums. I'm sure nobody would have a serious reason to complain. Just making it concrete, the entire epic Möbius Trip suite could have a standing for its own. However, it is what it is, and in the end it doesn't play any substantial role. The available result is a great monumental prog album as a matter of fact. That also means '... a love letter to the late seventies Rush records that shaped so much of our musical beginnings ...'. Three musicians from the US state North Carolina are responsible for this, Steve Laur (drums), Juan Mantilla (guitars) and Ruben Moreno (bass, vocals, keys). Their passion to work out sophisticated prog music is undisputable.

Derek Sherinian must have noticed that in one way or another, and they could convince him to contribute some additional keyboard stuff. Divided in three parts Difference Engines opens the show, you immediately can recognize that the flow is multi-varianted, but homogenous anyway. And gradually one may experience the obvious Rush influence, especially the Geddy Lee inspired bass lines all over. Ruben Moreno's singing voice is relatively gentle, comes with an unique standing. The shortest track Perihelion makes my day especially, cunning, attractive, features strong keyboard contributions. A very enjoyable album, also including symphonic and ambient imprints. You can't fail to hear their musical preferences and influences, but they are not a copy-cat trio at all. I'm wondering what will come next.
