2 stars A fantastically good work by a one-man project. Quite amazing. WE DESERVE THIS was formed by a German musician / multi-instrumentalist Jan-Dirk PLATEK back in 2010. This ep "I'm Sorry But I Shouldn't" distributed via a post-rock / ambient label Fluttery Records involves his colourful essence cultivated and improved for a decade. Only a 13 minute journey via this ep could give the audience his musical attitude strictly consolidated and arranged.

The titled track has rich kindness deeply in fuzzy vibes, just like a cool clean oasis on a hot and dry desert. Repetitions of simple phrases is simple indeed but absorbs us, in a spacey, decent manner. "Venus" has two phases - delicate, tragic one in the former part, and powerful, energetic one in the latter. Women are always sensitive but strong all around the world. The last "What If I Like You?" sounds like his sincere appearance for lovely fans. Kinda quiet and modest attachments could express his diligent character, I guess. And yes through "Tomorrow" we can feel anxious but try to find more and more brilliant futures and dreams under such a terrible situation.

Not so complicated nor innovative as other post-rock combos but he provides himself with intentional sound management in this creation. Good.
