Radio Piece III biography
RADIO PIECE III is a progressive rock band from Fairfield, Connecticut formed originally by Tom MAKUCEVICH, Tom GOROFF and Richie KUCHTA in 1976. The group started out as an avangarde jazz group which changed line-up and was occasionally a trio, a quartet and quintet, eventually having only keyboard player Tom MAKUCEVICH being the constant member from the very beginnings. The line-up of the band that recorded their first album in 1984 featured Guy SCHITANO on bass, Stan SIRICO on guitar, and members which would become the only other permanent members during the bands history, Larry MASTRONI on drums and Larry BENIGNO on keyboards and vocals. After the first album the group kep releasing records of keyboard led progressive rock, influenced by jazz and with some similarities to Canterbury bands like MUFFINS and the sound of NATONAL HEALTH in the 80s for example. Since the 90s the group has been working on new material as the trio of MAKUCEVICH, BENIGNO and MASTRONI but not with a lot of exposure and the group stayed in obscurity.
