Biocord biography
Founded in Kiev, Ukraine in 1989

BIOCORD was an instrumental rock group from Kiev active during the early 90's. The band was started by an architect by profession, Mykola BYKOV, and the sound was driven by BYKOVs' admiration of Robert FRIPPs' guitar playing and KING CRIMSON. The group created allegedly up to 5 records or more in some form but at the time not all were released in a very public distributable format and some were only on tapes, so songs from the albums 'Rock From The Heart' (1990), XYZ (1991), Out Of Focuses (1993) and Absolute Earth (1993) are featured on their first major release 'High Skies' in 1995. While the group was featured on festivals and on tv even, not much is known about their activities since the 90's if any.

While very much influenced by KING CRIMSON of the 80's, the group can be recommended to fans who wanted more of that 'Discipline' era sound and BIOCORD occasionally explores more ambient and jazzy improvisational avenues with it.
