Sonorhc biography
SONORHC was an experimental group lead by Jean-Francois GAEL and Pierre BUFFENOIR and formed near Paris in 1971. Named as Chronos spelled backwards, the band started out with members of an avantgarde jazz group called ARCANE V and consistently played some fusion related music even after line-up changes during their years long activity where one album was recorded per decade. The SONORHC sound is hard to pin down, in part it can be compared to some krautrock groups of the time which blended psychedelia with various ethnic sounds, but a lot of it is more improvisational and avantgarde which doesn't make it always an easy listening. Their subsequent albums while maybe more accessible, still retain highly eclectic approach that goes beyond psychedelia, with 'Outrelande' for example possibly being mistaken as a collection of nature recordings if not inspected thoroughly. Jean-Francois GAEL would go on and do a couple of records in a similar vein which based on the line-up could also be attributed to SONORHC, though they might be more akin to library music. Their last album again is completely in another direction and is in part electronic and classical.

It's hard to categorize their work in one genre, but people who might compare some of it to ethnic german krautrock like AGITATION FREE as a starting point can enjoy some of their first album, while those with an open mind for the avantgarde might find the rest of the discography interesting.
