Formed in 2005 Thou are an American sludge metal outfit from Baton Rouge, LA, known for their experimental tendencies and oppressive atmosphere. Their work is marked by a do-it-yourself philosophy, which finds its way into their anarchist lyrics and idiosyncratic musical approach.

Since their inception, Thou have consistently found themselves at the forefront of the underground sludge metal scene, with their records often garnering acclaim from critics and fans alike. Perhaps the best example of this is their widely celebrated debut album Tyrant, which was praised by Robert Garland of Sputnikmusic for its ?crunching dissonant guitar tones that are layered underneath a dark melodic lead?.

Aside from their core body of work, Thou have also been known to collaborate with a plethora of other artists, to include: Emma Ruth Rundle, The Body, Hell, Haarp, and several more.
