Ion Quest biography
ION QUEST is a Psychedelic/Space Rock band from Central Illinois that toured the festival circuit during the summer of 2004. ION QUEST soon moved onto other projects, but at their peak were able to integrate a range of musical genres that together became a genre all on its own. The band featured 5 musicians, Matthew Gueldenhaar (keyboards), David Gueldenhaar (guitar), Dan Byrd (bass), Chris Hogan (percussion) and David Mays (drums). Their debut album was self-titled in 2004 featuring Space Rock of almost an hour consisting of 9 songs, such as Pablo Pequeno Vencio' El Toro Pts.1 and 2.

The Gueldenhaar brothers and Dan Byrd moved on to the band BECAUSE OF THE SUN, a funky jazzy rock band based in Bloomington, IL, from 2006-2009. Byrd and David Gueldenhaar later were members of the female-fronted PEORIA that performed Classic Rock covers in their new band MISTER SISTER from legends such as AEROSMITH, FLEETWOOD MAC, LED ZEPPELIN, STEELY DAN, and RUSH.
