Bruce Lamont biography
Since 2000 BRUCE LAMONT has been a member of the jazzcore/experimental metal band YAKUZA, a Chicago-based band that has apparently expired given their tour schedule and mySpace site have gone cold since around the summer of 2011, and even their label has had no updates for the band on their website in that time.

Lamont's first solo release takes up somewhat where YAKUZA left off, with blistering, complex and chaotic metal blended with horns and occasionally bleak acoustic interludes. But it goes much further in the aptly titled 'Feral Songs for the Epic Decline', exploring haunting instrumental soundscapes, brooding acoustic stretches of introspection and strident yet languid lyrical passages. The overall effect is remarkably reminiscent of former 16 HORSEPOWER front man DAVID EUGENE EDWARDS in his carnation as WOVENHAND, not quite derivative but the similarities are inescapable.

Though Lamont has done little to promote his debut to-date, his future seems bright if he can manage to keep expanding the range of his musical expressions.
