Lagitagida biography
LAGITAGIDA is a heavy progressive rock band formed in April of 2010 in Japan by guitarist Kohhan OHTAKE, bassist Takehito KONO, and drummer Takayoshi YAZAWA. The power trio's instrumental style from the beginning was based in heavy layered avant-garde progressive jam rock tunes, with alternative styles mixed in and an energetic atmosphere. They are a self-titled super-powered instrumental attack band, and they display this very well in their compositions.
The band got to composing quickly after forming, and it was not long before the band had a number of cuts that they began to regularly play live. After playing a number of energetic shows, they band entered the studio to record their debut EP, CaterpiRhythm, which was released Novermber of 2011. They weren't done, however, as in January of the next year their second EP CartaMarina was released.
The band's style will appeal of fans of fast-paced free-form heavy prog in the vein of The Mars Volta and other eclecticly influenced heavy prog acts.
