UK band OX.EAGLE.LION.MAN was formed towards the end of 2006 by Fred MacPherson (vocals), Shaun Paterson (guitars) and Tommy Howson (bass). Tobi O'Kandi (drums) briefly joined the band, participating on early demo sessions, but was since replaced by Eduard Quarmby (drums).

The foursome signed to UK label Transgressive Records, who released an initial single, "Motherhood/Fatherhood" in 2007. In 2008 two EPs followed: "The Lay Of the Land, The Turn Of The Tide" and "Obscured By a Setting Sun", the first in a planned series of EPs.
