Devius biography
Currently based in Córdoba, Argentina, DEVIUS was founded at the onset of 2009 as a musical project which combines the aggression and velocity of death metal with avant garde experimentation and jazz fusion elements within the progressive rock spectrum. Although the band has undergone numerous lineup changes, guitarist Gastón PRADDAUDE and drummer Andrés GUALCO have remained steadfast through each release. The band's compositions are technically strong whether they are pummeling away akin to BEHEMOTH or shifting into jazzy passages with nods to CYNIC and even FRANK ZAPPA. There's also moments of atmospheric acoustic sections, Latin rhythms and also virtuosic melodic guitar interplay juxtaposed with dissonant chord progressions, over which both harsh growling and clean singing is utilized.

They have currently released two EPs, Infinity Echoes from 1999 and Orphion from 2011, and one full length album from 2014 entitled The Absents Presence. Along with Gastón and Andrés, their current roster also includes Diego ESTEVEZ on bass and Walter PIDONE on vocals.
