Chuck's the sole owner of Rhino, I believe. Chuck also owns Mad Platter in Riverside, Video Paradiso (right next to Rhino) and, most recently, Analogue Haven in Pomona, which specializes in, you guessed it, modern and retro analog synthesizers. Djam Karet's sound isn't representative of the type of stuff Cuneiform typically releases. The band, being friends with CR founder Steve Feigenbaum, joined forces after years of self-releasing their music. The bottom line is, if you like Djam Karet, you like Djam Karet. Stating Recollection Harvest  is the "worst" Cuneiform release of 2005 is like saying Wobbler's Hinterland  was the "worst" release of 2005 for Laser's Edge. Recollection Harvest, IMHO  not their best - and probablythe  worst release from Cuneiform Records in 2005, but this hasbeen a remarkable year for albums from that label.

I think these guys are absolutely fantastic.

Even their stuff up till now is beautiful.

Great,Great Band.      I suggest anyone who looks at this post to at least download on of their tracks.

Instrumental, and its very talented.

I met their drummer Chuck once. He's part owner of the record shop Rhino Records near the colleges in Clairmont California. I've got a bunch of their stuff - 9 or 10 CDs - and while I like them, I don't feel like I need any more. Absolutely. That's why I said their last few albums ...actually, I like them all, but starting with The Devouring  they really cook! RH  is yet another fine album, with the most Mellotron and synth work to date (while retaining all the guitars, of course). Get it!
