Check out spooky and psychedelic Where Groupies Killed the Blues or brilliant jazz/fusion and symphonic atmosphere of Banquet. Uriah Heep albums for me have a lot of highlights, but also fillers. LF albums hold better for me as a whole. Musicianship of bands and both Lawton and Byron are equally outstanding, but considering harmonies UH had stronger potential.
I count also UH work till Hensley was in, after that it is different band for me.. btw. it came to my mind because he is approaching to St.Petersburg next week)

Edited by stewe - December 06 2009 at 17:22

Very underrated! Mind Exploding is very good too. The debut has its moments, but it is a little bit immature and I'm Just A Rock 'N' Roll songer is a bit uneven.

Uriah Heep I like too, but many of their albums are sloppy and contain some bad songs. My favourite Uriah Heep albums are actually from the 90's (Sea Of Light and Sonic Origami) when the production values were higher and the quality control stricter. But the very best Uriah Heep releases are in my opinion recent live DVDs (Magic Night and Acoustically Driven are both great!) here we get many classic songs but more disciplined performances and modern sound. Great stuff!

I've seen them live IRL too a couple of times!
