Caravan, because... I'm always in the mood for their music? Hard to tell why, but they're my favorite of the four.
 
But, I do like GG a lot also, Gong too though a tiny bit less; never was much of a Rush fan.

I'm a fair weather fan who thinks Rush ain't all that terrible; they just  had a rough start. Gong and Caravan are strong (especially with Shamal and Richard Sinclair's contributions on the latter), but all involved can't match the sheer intensity of the Giants. If only if it wasn't for that (again) Giant For a Day thing...

Tough choice for me between Rush and Caravan - 2 entirely different bands but both fantastic, in my opinion.  Gong would be my third choice.
 
Gentle Giant is a favorite among prog rock fans but I couldn't put them in the same league as the other 3.

this is the only post that satisfy my hunger to the truth , and makes me laugh from the heart ! thank you all , my friends sharing in this poll ! maybe i'm the only one familiar with those bands listed above , cause i have all their materials since 1969 ! and i've seen about a hundreds of their concerts around the world ! so , to be honest , i can't simply vote , i lov them equally , and that's why i 've asked for yur opinions from the first place . thank you for being honest .

Gentle Giant are awesome too, but more serious music (in a way)
Caravan had 3 really good CD and Rush, well i loved them 20 years ago  :-)

1. Caravan (4 superb and unique albums)
2. Gentle Giant (quirky prog of the best, not often in the mood though)
3. Gong (psychedelic fun of the best, not often in the mood as well, plus some great fusion)
4. Rush (great and original hard rock/prog, but I barely am in the mood for heavy stuff now, and if I am I listen to Deep Purple or Sabbath)

1. Rush - awesome, one of my favorite bands.
2. Gentle Giant - great, very original and fun
3. Gong - good, some great trippy moments and great musicianship, but I find the vocals annoying
4. Caravan - okay, I like Nine Feet Underground, but they are generally a bit too mellow and poppy for me.

This is quite hard, I can however count away Rush, since they are terrible. And that leave Gentle Giant, Gong and Caravan, all bands are fantastic. But I think I'll have to remove Caravan since I only own 2 albums by them. 

Gong vs. Gentle Giant, I'll go with Gong today, but tomorrow it might as well be Gentle Giant.
