On both songs I really didn't like them at first very much... but then I got used to them and now I find them really enjoyable, almost as much as the Floyd versions. But still, the minimalism of the Floyd versions wins for me, I feel it fits this songs better. But then again... who knows, some people may like Roger's versions better.

I also love the title track, but only the live versions, specially the one on Ummagumma. As a matter of fact, I also like "Set the Controls" much better on the Live at Pompeii version, and after that, listening the the studio version leaves me rather underwhelmed. I'll be going with "Remember a day".

Incidentally, when I first listened to Saucerful of Secrets I thought it was a hugh letdown after Piper at the Gates of Dawn. Hercules should at least listen to a few more Pink Floyd albums before he makes blanket statements (ie. this is crap) about early Pink Floyd music.

Edited by iluvmarillion - April 05 2012 at 18:53
