Mark Sheeky is a surrealist artist and eclectic avant-garde musician with over 30 albums released since 1999.

Latest release is Burn of God (2020), a progressive concept album on the theme of religion, a depiction of a night of anxiety, an examining of the eternal questions of meaning and existence.

Please read the band submission rules.  The best way to get bands submitted is by submitting a bio and pictures that can be used for the band page.

Here is the link for the rules for band submission:  http://www.progarchives.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=122381

Thank you!

Sorry. I read the rules and thought I had obeyed them. It seems I am missing a picture. I will insert one here. Thank you.

The bio is inadequate.  There should be more information included regarding the artist's history, influences, origins, country, general musical style and so on.  An artist bio should have information related specifically to the artist and generally to his overall music, not so much the individual albums.  Information for individual albums would be more appropriate for the reviews that are written for each album.

Hey Mark, welcome aboard. You can add your detailed info (like what TCat says) to what you say above, and it's quite helpful. Thanks a lot! Wink

Now checking your newest one ...

Good material via your newest creation indeed, but mainly ambientish one seasoned with progressive or avantgarde flavour. I suppose it be tough you can pass their evaluation, if I'm not wrong.

A good album nonetheless. Thanks for your suggestion.

Thank you. I can't really think of anything more to add... unsure how much detail or number of words is optimal. There is a lot of public biographical information around. Here is the blurb from my YouTube channel which is longer and might be useful:

I began composing and producing music in the late 1990s, initially inspired by the need to create music for the games which I developed. My earliest musical experiences were the 1960s pop music of my parents, and Catholic hymns, but Jean-Michel Jarre, and particularly the music of the Commodore 64 were my prevailing influences on my first work. In 2002 I began development of my music software, Prometheus. All of my music since has been created and produced using this.

I became a full time artist at around 2010, and this changed my musical output. I began to perform piano live, and collaborate with visual artists to stage small contemporary art performances involving music. Influences at this time included avant-garde and fringe artists, from Scott Walker and Nick Drake, to The Shaggs, Legendary Stardust Cowboy and other music which I played for ArtsLab, a radio show which I produced and presented from 2016. In 2017 I began performing music with Deborah Edgeley to form the poetry group, Fall in Green.

In 2019 I conceived artist Marius Fate to explore pop/rock music. My current influences are wide ranging. Music, like all art, is about human to human emotional communication. A music machine can teach us nothing about what it means to be human, so in this digital era, great effort should be made to craft our human stories and feelings. I have been making music of various sorts for most of my life, but, for me, the journey is just beginning, and the greatest art is yet to come.

That is very helpful, thank you.  As long as there is enough information to put together some kind of bio for the page, then it is adequate, and there are certain things we like to look for in a bio as I mentioned above.  I will pass this on to the Eclectic team to review.

Thanks again for the additional information.
