JB Fairfield is the solo musical project of Jeff Brunne, a musician who hails from Brisbane, Australia.

He developed his unique style initially from listening to classical and folk music, but then was forever corrupted by his love of the influential bands of prog’s golden era in the 1970s.

JB has since then incorporated other influences into his oeuvre, from Jean Michel Jarre style electronica to contemporary psychedelia to the emotional dynamism of post rock.

Beginning with the all-instrumental soundscapes of A Drama of Lightness and Unbearable Lightness of Being in 2020, JB Fairfield has now introduced his rich vocal harmonies into his original music.

This has allowed him to both demonstrate his more accessible musical side, as well as explore various philosophical themes. JB’s most recent release, Songs for Dreamers, is a meditation on consciousness itself. How prog is that?

JB enjoys how, through the magic of music, the composer can explore reality and unreality, time and space (like some Victorian time traveller - 3rd image below) and hopes that music fans can feel some of this enchantment through listening to his music.

Thank you for your time and love of music!
