Never mind that, my favourite Genesis cover is Daevid Allen's 'Visions of Angels'

I know this tribute, rather uneven and even some uninteresting renditions (to put it kindly)

Enchant gets the vote again.

I like this tribute more. Funny how obscure artists make better covers...

Most of the artists on the Supper's Ready tribute album are obscure to me, apart from Annie Haslam, Peter Bardens and Richard Sinclair, obviously. Smile

I'm trying to reply without sounding rude and i don't think I can.

You admitting that those artists are obscure show more about you not knowing those artists than those artists being unknown (all those artists in the tribute have released successful albums).

Did I say it without being rude? EmbarrassedLOL

No, you're not being rude at all and it probably doesn't surprise you that I don't know any of the remaining eleven artists in the poll. After all, I only just discovered last week that Marillion has a "new" singer replacing Fish, so I have some catching up to do when it comes to exploring modern prog. Tongue

also, me posting that link is an invitationfor you to go explore that other Genesis tribute, see if I was right calling it better than the tribute you posted (LOL), funny how you do not have that curiosity to go listen.

^ It isn't about not having the curiosity to explore something new. It's all about finding the time to listen. I'm still listening to Marillion's backlog of 48 albums as well as currently listening to the Supper's Ready tribute above, not to mention German band Jane's seemingly never-ending list of albums. Oh, and then there's over 4000 Jazz albums to explore too. The list goes on and on and on... Smile

Well, you're almost at the end with Jane.

As for Marillion, stick to official releases, they've released a lot of live albums/DVDs and even I gave up in trying to listen to them all and I love this band.
I say finish with the studio albums first and then listen to some live albums if you have the time.

Surprised you have not heard of Robert Berry then - one of the 'bigger' names on this compilation

Ripples. Annie Haslam’s voice makes this beautiful song sublime.

most of the artists on the tribute album are obscure to me too. but that's o.k. to me; I am most likely familiar with a lot of artists that would be obscure to you. vive la différence

Well, all of us know artists everyone else does not know (much) about, obviously. But that's not the issue here. What I said there was only meant specifically for Paul (that's why I quoted him).

shocking Sherwood didn't worm his way onto this mediocre tribute album how did that happen! LOL

voted Haslam ---although there are really good versions of Back in NYC out there like Francis Dunnery --
