Focus were good. Nektar weren’t very good at at all

All I like is prog related bands beginning late 60's/early 70's. Their music from 1968 - 83 has the composition and sound which will never be beaten. Perfect blend of jazz, classical, folk and rock.

^ ![]() Don't know if one is "better" than the other or which band was "good" or not, and I cannot let statistics determine for me which one I prefer. For that, I have my guts, and my guts say that I prefer Focus. |

I'm running still, I shall until, one day, I hope that I'll arrive Warning: Listening to jazz excessively can cause a laxative effect. |

Two of my first and original favorite prog bands! It'd be hard to vote against either. Nektar is more of an album band, Focus more of a talent phenom.

Focus. The 1973 live concert in Montreal was pure magic.

I sort of dismissed Nektar at first. Thinking they were lightweight or something, but I was wrong. Great tunes, awesome atmosphere. They did what they do really well and were exactly as good as they needed to be.

^ Thanks!
-Nektar are much more to my
tastes than Focus. I can easily understand the attraction of the latter
band (for proggers), but their approach aren't what mainly attracts me to prog - or rather progressive rock. |

Me neither. I got Moving Waves specifically because of Hocus Pocus. However, the rest of the album isn't like that and is more like standard symphonic prog. There is nothing wrong with that but I like something meatier. |
