I'm sure this poll was around at some point , but I could not find it, or the search failed.

Anyway, 2 great albums from these two awesome musicians, both in 1975, choose your favorite, leave a post. Smile

I went back to Fish Out of Water because of this poll for the first time since.... since the one time I've ever listened to it - over a decade ago. Much more enjoyable than I remembered. I was certain I would have a hard time hearing Chris Squire singing, but I actually found his voice to be quite pleasant and no problem at all.

I voted for Steve Hillage straight away though. Fish Rising was/is like getting a peak era Gong-bonus album. And that to me beats getting a (peak era) Yes-bonus album almost by default.

Fish Rising is a wonderful album. I wasn't so keen on Fish Out Of Water back when I bought it in the eighties. Maybe if I relistened now I'd reassess it as Saperlipopette did but there so little time for so much music...

Fish out of Water was my favourite of the 'mid 70's time-out solo Yes albums' but still took me a little while to get into it and nowadays its an lp i'm extremely fond of (more so than many Yes albums actually).

But Fish Rising is something really special to me personally and as Saperlipopette! said, its like an extra peak-era Gong lp.. seeing Steve playing 'The Salmon Song' live again SO powerfully over the last few years after i really thought it was not going to happen has been one of the real joys of recent times. So FR gets my vote.

Have to go with Hillage. During my rediscovery of prog in the late 1990s, this album was a big hit with my ears and is still a favorite to this day. I zero in on chairs.
