Guys making a big deal of this are just showing their ignorance... rap acts been sampling prog artists since the 80s...

The producer of the song thought KC would fit the song, and Kanye agreed. Kanye also admitted he likes the song! Nevertheless, I love the song, and the video is the best video ever, period.

The Truth: Name a critically respected rap album- you may use Rateyourmusic or something similar to determine what they are, perhaps looking at the sub-genres of experimental or abstract hip-hop- that you have acquired and listened to the entirety of.

I'm not specially surprised if Fripp liked "Power". Professional musicians are often more tolerant and humble than their fans, at least in musical tastes.

Outkast have sampled Focus i don't know what song but that one is realy good song but then Outkast is the sh**t, the most inovative of the A-list Rap artists

People expressing surprise that Fripp likes it are revealing themselves as the sort of nostalgic type who is not really progressive but listens to prog for the sound of their own past. Fripp as an actual prog person is highly likely to enjoy all sorts of unusual stuff, particularly the new because you don't make much progress by digging up the past over and over.
