My favorite one is Som Imaginário, but Bacamarte really good. Hermeto Pascoal and Egberto Gismonti are more Jazz than prog rock, but they are incredible. And we have Arrigo Barnabé too.

well remember, arrigo barnabé could be consider a post rock/math rock influence in Brazil.

For this website in particular the best and most popular brazilian band is with no doubt Bacamarte. It is the only brazilian band whose album is among the 50 (right now 20) top prog albums on the front page.
But I'd add to Bacamarte, bands like Quaterna Requiem, Tempus Fugit and Blezqi Zatzas. They fit to my taste. Also all of them sound genuinely more like prog bands. 70s brazilian band that were quoted here are nice, but they allowed themselves to be influenced by a lot of other bands not quite progressive.
From the 70s, did anyone remember to mention "Terreno Baldio"? A nice Gentle Giant-like band.

Bacamarte, Módulo 1000 and Ronnie Von's early psychedelia do it for me.

Seja bem vindo! We have a few Brazilians here and there, by the way.

Thank you, Walter. I agree with you, i do prefer their early works, but I just hate Rita Lee vocals...
