Unbearable. A blasphemy and a abomination. I bought it 25 years ago and after one listen I couldn't get it back to the store fast enough to return it. I lied and said it skipped. I felt my hands were rinsed of blood.

It is an unusual, engaging concept album that I also really enjoy. I like it better than "The Wall," but not as much as "The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway." Still, I agree that it is one of the best extended concept albums ever recorded, though it isn't first in my book either. "Altamont," "Aegian Sea," and "The Four Horsemen" are my favorite songs off of "666."

I've been listening to this alot this past week and while i initially felt the mood didn't seem to match the concept...who cares. That's part of it's charm actually, besides the music is so well done.Yes there are some freaky vocal sections but this one is a keeper.Very impressed !

A good album but not the best. For me "the lamb lies down on broadway"
Me, too. 666 was based on the bible. The Lamb was based on having a really weird dream. don't you think the apocalypse was kind of very weird dream for st John?
Oddly enough I did Wayne's War Of The Worlds. Had to skip a couple of tracks. Care to guess which?
I had heard of the 666 album when I first got a used copy, I had been a fan of V's latter 70's stuff. I like that stuff better.

One of my favourite albums. Not keen on concept albums and arguably this is only a concept album up to side three. Both tracks on side 4 are actually tacked on. All The Seats Were Occupied is absolutely brilliant but exactly how this fits into the concept I'm not sure. The use of sampling and mixing in bits of the album into one complete self contained work is very clever but then Vangelis is a genius.

How does that fit in with The Book of Revelations concept then
It's a pretty Pop song that does not fit with the lyric, music or the concept of the album.
It's modern music, Dean, it doesn't have to end with Agnus Dei. There would be several quirkier interpretations, if we insist on this. Surely The Four Horsemen is just as off..
I probably appreciate it more for its eclectics than for its conceptuality.

How does that fit in with The Book of Revelations concept then no comparison between break and spring summer winter and fall, as well the music as the lyrics, break is far more than just a pretty pop song

Should have been called 911 because they could have used some outside help. I do like it but for me the mood is completely wrong. PLJ BAND from Greece also has that apocalyptic mood down perfectly on their "Armageddon" album. Just my opinion.

A great album, but not the greatest. Accentuating the positive, I voted yea.

Cons yes, pros no in terms of me believing that it is the greatest Prog concept album. If there truly is such a beast as the bona fide greatest Prog concept album, then I don't know what it is.
