Topic: Rnd 1 Lima Bracket: Weather Report v. Renaissance Posted: December 06 2014 at 07:49
From the Jazz Rock/Fusion conference we have one of its greatest and most loved bands From the US. WEATHER REPORTVIDEO From the mighty Symphonic Conference we have one of most loved of all sympo bands! From England RENAISSANCE!!!VIDEO Vegas oddsmakers have installed Renaissance as a 15 vote favorite but can Weather Report pull the upset. One is likely if the instrumental freaks turn out in force to vote over the beauty of Renaissance

I have been into both bands for a very long time but my passion for Weather Report has been waning lately. Plus I love Annie.

Never liked Renaissance but Weather Report is a band I never tire of.

Tough call but I'll just give it to Renaissance here.

I do have a lot of time for Renaissance's classic albums, but Weather Report appeal more to my current tastes - so they get my vote.

Renaissance have a handful of fantastic moments, and Weather Report has been little more than background music to me. I'll go with Renaissance.

And the forecast is that Weather Report just edge out the rebirth. Film at 11.

God I love that song.. that gets to be the sample for round 2 if they make it.

Perhaps you can have a secondary contest for the best alternative spelling of Scheherazade. Raffle off an ugly Christmas sweater or something.

Curveball of a poll, here! I love WR and Jaco/Josef/AJ (etc.), but each band excels at what they do to staggering degrees. I'm inclined to vote for WR but these two bands couldn't be more dissimilar. I'll sit this one out.
