sounds like fans will have a chance to express their love and appreciation.
Keep an eye out for a Gofundme campaign.. suppose if it hasnt been posted here it is not officially up yet...seems Allan was not doing well financially and the family needs help in a big way.

His work on One of a Kind is truly one of a kind. The man was a legend, no doubts about it.

Can't get a much better recommendation than that.

I'm just seeing this. I'm shocked and very saddened.

There's some good news - the crowdfunding campaign raised over $114,000! That's over 5 times what they were originally asking for - they shut it down after three days.
I am really heartened that people still care about music and artists! I know many of the people here support music but out in the "real world" there are many who feel entitled to music for free and don't do anything to support artists...

well done community! also gives me a good idea to try when my bad habits put me in an early grave... you bitches are going to pay for my funeral. The Big Mick.. the Allan Holdsworth of the internet...umm hmmm.. that goes on my gravestone. Classless, tasteless, and completely out of place when associated with Holdsworth's passing. And where's the ever-meaningless mehs and pffs? I do like that quote, though.

Sad loss! I haven't got much of his playing in my collection, that will be rectified in the next year of purchases me thinks.

Really unfortunate. However, because of his death I was reminded I need more of him in my collection. Just picked up Metal Fatigue on vinyl.

Hadnt heard until John Etheridge dedicated a song from 'Bundles' when i saw Soft Machine earlier this week. Totally shocked, went home and played 'One of a kind' and the the first UK lp.. a totally unique guitarist, playing like nobody else. Very sad news and my sincerest condolences to his family.
