This is where I live most of the time.
I'd add to the list bands like City Boy, Crack the Sky, Split Enz, Lake, Angel, Max Webster, Lodgic, Charlie, Seal, MMEB, Gary Wright... We have a lotta fun livin' in these outskirts! From the list I'm truly torn between Utopia and Ambrosia.

Not sure how Utopia falls into the "outskirts" when I can think of very few albums more spot-on proggy than their 1974 debut. Certainly, nothing Zappa or Miles/Herbie or PFM/Banco ever did compares to "The Ikon", "Utopia Theme" or even the Zappa-like "Freak Parade"!
