You don't have to include this, but this song is the summer song for me. I went on a trip my young kids and wife to an all-inclusive resort in the Yucatan (really superb). I went to Mexico for places like Chichen Itza, swimming in ceynotes, the beaches and islands, but in the end it was the drinking cocktails and eating delicious food at the resort that was the highlight. While at the pool, I decided to put on Magma's Attahk with earbuds, partially because I got so tired off one person who was playing out loud that "I got a feeling that tonight's gonna be a good night" song again and again. For some reason "Nono" really became my summer song with good vibratioons there. This is my ultimate happy song that I associate with summer and for that reason I feel that I would be remiss to not mention it.

Magma - Nono (off the album Attahk from 1978 from Kobaïa via France)

Glad to have you on board with us, Greg! Of course I will include your track. The main thing is we have fun here and the stories behind our choices, that's what makes the music so special.- Two years ago, I booked a cruise to the Caribbean, including Cuba, Jamaica, Yucatan and Mexico City but the trip was cancelled due to the pandemic. I hope I can catch up with that trip as soon as work allows me.

TO ALL
Guys, don't hesitate to bring your fave summer hits, I can include them in a separate category.
And prog is also ok as long as you suggest also other genres. Let's just have fun! Smile

That sounds like what would have been an excellent trip.

I had four tracks that came to mind very quickly, and while I had some concern with the Magma, I also do with another act's music that I want to nominate. I have been very into Boards of Canada for the last few years especially. I nominated Boards of Canada track, Dayvan Cowboy, off The Campfire Headphase (2005) in 2021, and in your last one, Mila, Interactive Poll: It Takes Two! from a few months, I nominated The Beach at Redpoint off Geogaddi (2002) and now I want to nominate a track off my favourite Boards of Canada album, which also has been, I think my number one summer song from what may be my number one summer album particularly over the last two years (the year before that it would have been something Serge Gainsbourg, and while Nono was the first to come to mind and always put a smile on face, Boards of Canada has got more play than Magma these last two years). This and Magma's Nono are I think my ultimate summer tracks. I did wonder, should I go for something that I also associate with summer that is not as important to me or vice versa? The heart won, yeah, that's right.

Boards of Canada - Aquarius (off music has the right to children 1998, and it's Scottish in case some would assume otherwise).

Watching while most appreciating a sunset in the moment need not diminish all the glorious sunsets I observed before. It can be much like that with music for me; immersed in experiencing the moment.

I wanted to participate on the last one but couldn't think of anything interesting to nominate. I've been playing music way more than listening lately.
I haven't, I heard some Dead Combo but it never grabbed me. More recently there's Expresso Transatlântico with a similar vibe but focused on Portuguese guitar. I'm not a fan of the production but they're pretty good live.

There is probably no better recommendation than this! You just reminded me of another instrumental Portuguese band I used to listen to a few years ago. It's Dead Combo. Have you ever introduced them here before? I think they are pretty cool. - It's nice to see you around after quite a while. Welcome back! Smile

Nice! I have to think about this. Summer tunes that immediately popped in my head were either well known or from artists I have previously mentioned.

It is a shameless pop song, but it is catchy, well made, and catchy, and it is also catchy, so it is actually quite good, and catchy...

Now look, The Ketchup Song on PA and from Kees?! LOL
Such an ifectious song should not be missed at any beach party! The only rival I can think of is Los Del Rio's Macarena but The Ketchup song is clearly my favourite, la la la . .

Aahh, that's why it is this hot! It's that time of the year. Nice. Thumbs Up
The second thing I thought of (I will present the first thing later) was a summer hit the year I moved to France and it actually made me think that I should move more South (which I eventually did, although not that far). Now, since this video has the karaoke subtitles included, if we could all get together to do a karaoke with this song, including its wonderful choreography, it would be the only occasion you would see me dance! Tongue

Here is a first one from me:

Hermanos Gutiérrez ft. Dan Auerbach: Tres Hermanos (Album: El Bueno y el Malo, 2022)

It is this easy listening type of music. I like to listen to this album right now while driving. It gives me that road trip feeling.

Hermanos Gutiérrez are an instrumental duo formed in 2015 in Zürich by Ecuadorian-Swiss brothers Alejandro Gutiérrez (guitar and lap steel) and Estevan Gutiérrez (guitar and percussion). Their latest album, “El Bueno y el Malo”, inspired by Morricone’s “Spaghetti-Western” soundtracks, was recorded in Nashville in collaboration with Dan Auerbach of the Black Keys and released by his label in 2022.

Hi everybody and welcome to another poll of our Interactive Playlist series!

This time around, it is going to be about sharing our music we like to listen to during the warm season. There are all kinds of moods and styles of music that people associate with summer and therfore we're going to put them all together into one playlist that you can listen to right now but also save it for later. and listen to it again whenever you feel like it.

Here are the guidelilnes:

Choose a track that reminds you in one way or another of summer, maybe a good track from a lesser-known album that you would like to recommend, maybe you bought that album just because of that track or you heard it by chance on the radio or at a pub, what ever.

You can suggest as many tracks as you like but only one track per post. Please write separately, next to your YouTube video the artist’s name and song title. Due to location restrictions your video may not be available abroad.

You are welcome to choose any music genre you like but it would be preferable to have a musically diverse mix.

Please avoid too long tracks, max duration:+/- 7 min.

You can vote for as many songs as you like, excluding your own.

Optionally, you can say something about why you made your selection and comment on the songs suggested by other participants.

The voting will begin as soo as all spots in the poll are taken, otherwise when no more suggestions have been posted for a while, 2-3 days or so.

So join us & have fun! Thumbs Up

________________________

And here is the playlist:

Note: The playlist will be updated regularely.

It will appear at the end of this opening post only.
