I only know the songs they played in the Symphonic Live DVD, and they're not good enough to convince me to buy this album. However, if I could find this album for three dolars, I'd buy it too.

'Magnification' isn't their best album for me- it just lacks something that its predecessor 'The Ladder' had, with some weak material. It's a good album, don't get me wrong, but far from a masterpiece.

Hmm, I've only managed to get through this album three or four times, I believe... Got it used in a record shop last summer. It's been a long time since it last visited my stereo but I do remember rather liking the title track and parts of Dreamtime, yet overall it's a bit of a lackluster affair, I'm afraid. The incorporation of the orchestra I have nothing against and it's been done with good taste, but the compositions themselves are just a little bit too "Topographic Oceanish"  in places (~ In the Presence Of) or too twee in the case of some of the shorter tracks.

A  effort so still listenable at times but nothing I couldn't live without quite happily.

Congratulations for getting the Symphonic DVD, Winter Wine, it's my most watched DVD by far!

"Lackluster affair" - not in the slightest!! this album sounds like a band revived! There is a lot of energy and carefully constructed EPICS! and I do not use that word lightly! There is at least four songs here that I would consider among the greatest tracks the band have.

For such an excellent album is unjustified and shameful!

Has anyone ever heard the "XYZ" sessions with Chris Squire, Alan White, and Jimmy Page?  I think that was early 80's and on it, Chris plays a version of "Can You Imagine".  Interesting that it took over 20 years to make it to an album!  (Prolly like all the songs on Open Your Eyes )
