Two of Renaissance's great epics.  Mother Russia stands out ahead though for it's emotion and sweeping beauty.
The world of sound is certainly capable of infinite variety and, were our sense developed, of infinite extensions. -- George Santayana, "The Sense of Beauty"

I love both, but Mother Russia is a true classic.

"Can You Understand?". Grand, rich, and intense. The melodies on "Mother Russia" are so boring.

Two great songs, but I have a little preference for Mother Russia. I remember in the 90s to have heard from the radio a rapper using the piano intro of Can you understand? as base....I would have killed him whoever he was...

Can You Understand might be my favorite Renaissance track, and Mother Russia is not, so.

Yeah, I think it's rather flattering that an excerpt from a prog piece was used in somebody else's work.

Indeed, 2 superb tracks. Mother Russia has been my favourite Renaissance piece since I discovered the band in the late-80's.........
