The social commentary over the Space Invader-loving free stoner anthem.

A modern day warrior
Mean, mean stride
Today's Tom Sawyer
Mean, mean pride

Dude really!!!! How tougher can this be.....That intro odd time synth, the drumming, bass line, lyrics its Subdivisions for me.
Tom Sawyer will always be my crank it up song at home or in the car...

Tough one for sure.

Tom. Subdivisions is just a little too poppy and I think Rush would make better pop music later in their career.

I worked in a HiFi store for many years and I sold many speakers playing "Tom Sawyer" by Rush. So for that reason I choose "Tom Sawyer'.
Vinyl just sounds better!!

I'd have to go with Subdivisions. Though I do prefer Moving Pictures over Signals.

Me too---I like Rush--not a crazed fan boyErmm---but Subdivisions hits a home run---maybe because it sounds a little different from a lot of their stuff.

Subdivisions
Dig me...But don't...Bury me
I'm running still, I shall until, one day, I hope that I'll arrive
Warning: Listening to jazz excessively can cause a laxative effect.

This, especially when Alex mouths "Subdivisions" in that low voice in the music video. LOL

Both are fine but the bonus cut "I Like Both Equally" rocks my world twice as much as either... ;)

Tom Sawyer.

When he rides, my fears subside.
For darkness turns once more to light.
Through the skies, his white horse flies.
To find a land beyond the night.

It's a tie and I want to keep it that way. I can't decide between Subdivions (I like the melody a bit more) or Tom Sawyer (some killer riffs). So I vote for the "Both equally"-option.

Tom Sawyer is a little too general for me. It came from an album that really took them over the top, but I feel the era of Subdivisions was more creative, and the song is a grand representative of that.

I prefer Subdivisions; love innocent/meancholic contrast.  However, Moving Pictures is the Superior album
More heavy prog, please!

Subdivisions is such a classic Rush song. Excellent lyrics, amazing drumming, great bass, nice guitar solo...

..and man what a great look....

Subdivisions!
