Just thinking of the first couple Synergy albums, One of a Kind by Bruford, Happy Family's second

Some of that made it onto here, along with new material by Fast.

I don’t know if it was mentioned before but the soundtrack of Breaking the Waves contains Cross Eyed Mary by Jethro Tull, A Whiter Shade Of Pale by Procol Harum and Child in Time by Deep Purple.

Hi,

Little known film around the film festival circuit ... "The Van" ... had original music done by Eric Clapton. Produced by Colm meaney I think it was.

Handmade Films used a lot of music by many folks, probably because it was one of George Harrison's fun projects, and daily laughs. Not to mention that Neil Innes ran rampant in the Python films there, but Neil Jordan also used a lot of stuff on his films ... not all progressive though. Not sure that "Randy Racquel" would even get a listen by a progressive music audience! We don't use "mouth wind" as an instrument in prog!

The above was mentioned because there was a voting post with his name on it ... I guess that Hans is not progressive!

Their recent series of concerts is the complete film in music, with the film in the screen on the background!

Tangerine Dream scored many, many films, and co-founder/prime mover Edgar Froese scored this one solo:

Hi,

Guy Guden's Space Pirate Radio, played a lot ... I mean A LOT of soundtracks, from many different places and times. Many of them were there to augment the mood of the show, and take it a bit further than just a pop song, so to speak.

Some of the examples:

Emmanuelle Sdtk -- More than one of them ... has some very nice music.

A Taxing Woman (1 and 2) -- This Japanese film used rock music in the 2nd film, and that guitar player (something Honda I think!), was magnificent in the background.

Performance (Randy Newman, Merry Clayton, Last Poets, Mick Jaegger, Jack Nitzche) - Still one of the best films ever made, and its use of music was outrageously magnificent in every aspect. Nicholas Roeg, in many ways, is the first MTV person, as all of his films featured a lot of music. Check out "Bad Timing/A Sensual Obsession" for even more fabulous music use.

Pink Panther Sdtk -- Henry Mancini's music is very jazzy, not quite progressive, but it is cool ... very cool and nice!

Bernard Herrmann -- Various soundtracks for Sci-Fi films, that still use the same type of expression that he did for film events. Listening to the music itself, without the films is actually much better and a treat of great music. It makes you visualize something ... and that is the gift of the greatest music of all time, progressive or not!
