The Flaming Lips cover Sgt. Pepper in it's entirety (calling the album "With a Little Help from my Fwends") ... and the result is essentially unlistenable in my opinion.  I really don't understand the band's acclaim.  I think Yoshimi is decent, even good, but their most recent stuff baffles me.  It seems like it's all just schizophrenic, incoherent, trip-gone-bad, nonsense (in a bad way Wink). Anyways, here it is available streaming from NPR.  They have guests including My Morning Jacket, Moby, and Miley Cyrus.

I'm listening to A Day In the Life and loving it, pretty cool. Sorry to hear you find it unlistenable, and even worse that you find the band bad. One of the best bands out there.

I like em more now than i ever did before, and i first jumped on the on-againoff-again train in 1989 with "Oh My Gawd".
They're finally making music i can get into fairly consistently, though i have to admit they've been really heavy on the gimmicks.

I also don't care for the gimmicks, but I think they really made something great with The Terror. Will listen to this soon, but I'm not expecting much as it appears to be yet another gimmick.

I liked the early Lips things better than what they have done in the later years but not a big fan anyway.
here's a link to a bit about the album on WIKI
