I am not entirely sure what to make of the idea behind (I'm not even sure I understand it properly), but any new Faust album scores high on my music radar.
I found two links about this. One here that says

The new LP will arrive via Krautrock specialists Bureau B, which explains the album is actually pronounced "Just Us." The album also comes with quite the concept, as Faust "have laid down 12 musical foundations, inviting the whole world to use them as a base on which to build their own music."

and an additional link to pitchfork here (that doesn't say a whole lot tbh)
Safe to say what we can take away from all of this is that Faust is releasing an album called j US t but pronounced 'Just us'Big smile

Now that I think of it - this way of approaching things reminds me of Hip Hop, where certain beats are used again and again by upcoming artists - only they tweak and polish the 'borrowed' material making it into their own thang. That's essentially what's going down here, and everyone's invited to make their own collab with Faust!

Interesting idea. Of course any time Faust makes a move, I'm interested.

Did you get the last one Steve? Something Dirty.
Pretty good album but a bit pedestrian for Faust imo.

I just though of another thing: this album could very well be the answer to all Colin's prayers. In a thread about dream candidates for future collaborations he pretty much mentioned Faust + everyone.

I agree. Not bad but slightly disappointing.  I think C'est Complique has a lot more personality.

It would certainly appear so.

I may have to re-visit that one. I can't really remember anything from it tbhEmbarrassed I tend to reach for their collab with Dälek, if we're talking 'modern' Faust releases. Fact of the matter is that I'm pretty much stuck on the early releases, but I am still extremely ready to be swept off my feet by anything new and exciting they record. That's why my interest in them never wanes. They're a band that has the potential of great things - to conjure up something completely out of left field, and that never fails to entice me.

I'll check out the Dalek one, haven't heard that.  I've made a decent effort to keep up with Faust's more recent material, but I'm much more in tune with the old stuff too.  I remember a "Top Ten Faust songs" thread a while back, and Colin commented how no one was listing any recent songs.  My thought was, I would, if I could only remember any of the song titles or how any of the songs "go"!

Thumbs Up
I do hope the originals are interesting enough on their own though.
