I find these three to be the BASSPLAYERS of which most bass-players in rock have been into, or whom have influenced People who you agian are influenced by, or even influenced someone who influenced someone who agian influenced you.

me as a Troy Sanders fan, can find hes influence from Gene Simmons and from Gene Simmons, either Etnwiztle or Bruce, or McCartney.

maybe also John Paul Jones fits With the trio of early rock bass heroes, any other?

Undoubtedly so.  He was the session bass player in the 1960s.

I can't answer your question because I have absolutely no idea.

Undoubtedly so.  He was the session bass player in the 1960s.

I can think of a few others who might dispute that - Carole Kaye, James Jamerson for starters.

Opinions.  Though I suppose once he got into it, it was more than just bass, it was his arrangements.

I think all 3 are great in their respective bands but I have always liked Bruce's solo material better.

Macca! He always added a memorable texture and melody line - still does occasionally.

Tte first rock bass player (?), Jet Harris of The Shadows was pretty good at this too. His work on Apache, Man of Mystery, Nivram, Wonderful Land are memorable mentions. Likely an inspiration of McCartney?

amen to that no one touched his solo material and what he did, post 'member of famous band', and he is well regarded for it.  He doesn't suffer for respect and acclaim.

I think McCartney is one of the most underated bassists of them all... he could do in a few notes what it took others many more to do... that in itself is quite something.  Again ... talent means nothing .. what really matters is one does. Music is not science nor an exercise in technical abilities.. but in expression...

damn right.. the reason he is considered by any and all who have half a brain, and pretty much ALL bassists both famous and infamous, to be the greatest bassist of all time. Amazing stuff...
