Oh dear, I forget to mention this beautiful classic Italian album. For sure, one of the most beautiful if not the finest from 1974. Their first with a slightly different line-up is another gem. Both remind me classic BMS and early GENESIS. I will add this to my list immediately. Grazie.

Killer album...and one of my all time favorites.
The whole LP is great but Astronomy and Flaming Telepaths are just superb outré rock.

I have seen them live  several times over the years and about 2 years ago at a local summer outdoor concert...even though they are old like me....they were great.

Funny how much it's changed.
A new appreciation for Red and a couple months later...

I can't chose. It's between these (+ the ones I forgot)

Gong - You
Yatha Sidhra - A Meditation Mass
PFM - L'Isola di Niente
Area - Caution Radiation Area
Genesis - The Lamb
Miles Davis - Big Fun
King Crimson - Starless and Bible Black
Franco Battiato - Clic
Harmonia - Musik Von
Bennie Maupin - Jewel In The Lotus
Delirium - lll
Taj Mahal Travellers - August 1974
Faust - IV

The ones I forgotBig smile

Margarine Fiend - Phaedra
COS - Postaeolian Train Robbery
The Cosmic Jokers - Galactic Supermarket
Secret Oyster - Sea Son
Focus - Hamburger Concerto
Guru Guru - Dance Of The Flames
Can - Soon Over Babaluma
Code lll - Planet Of Man
Emmanuel Booz - Le Jour où les Vaches...
Biglietto Per L'Inferno - s/t

Yep, this was a pretty exciting year all around. When you then start to think about all the other rock, jazz, funk, soul, blues and pop albums being made around the same time... oh my word.

Hero & Heroine (Strawbs) / Red (KC)

I like the whole H & H very much but Stareless from Red is a special song, maybe one of the greatest masterpieces of prog.

King Crimson - Red
Take me down, to the underground
Won't you take me down, to the underground
Why oh why, there is no light
And if I can't sleep, can you hold my life

My least favourite year in what I consider to be the golden age of music (67-75). Here's a top ten list, prog or not prog:
King Crimson - Red
Yes  - Relayer
Robert Wyatt - Rock Bottom
Camel - Mirage
Genesis - Lamb
Supertramp - Crime
Gentle Giant - TPATG
Hatfield - s/t
Queen - Queen II
King Crimson - SABB

Wow so they all were prog.
There is no dark side in the moon, really... Matter of fact, it's all dark...
