Shadow of the Heirophant is the best song Genesis never wrote. Wink

Voyage Of The Acolyte quite a bit times flirts with the erudite music style, f.e. in Shadow of The Hierophant that female singer whose name I don't recall sings in a way which would hardly or never fit in the Genesis music.

The broad's name is Sally Oldfield (sister of Mike). And with three-fifths of the '72-'74 Genesis gang on board, it surely seemed to resemble a Genesis album that might have been. To each his own.

Exciting beautiful music! What a catchy and dinamic organ, keyboards and synths playing, so far just loving it, especially:
Cherry Five - Oliver
Cherry Five - The  Picture Of Dorian Gray
Cherry Five - The Swan Is A Murderer (pt. 1)

One the most treasured LP's in my vinyl collection.I've just moved and finally got got my LP collection out of storage at my brothers house.I've got a "record room" now and i'm gonna frame some mint LP's that i treasure in my collection and put them on the wall. This will be one to get that honor.

That is definitely a great band/album with a couple of former members of Steamhammer.

There's some outstanding keyboard and percussion work here indeed! El Indio is an overlooked gem, considering the recognition Alturas gets usually.

Very cool list Karl (and a belated birthday wish from yours trulyBig smile I kinda missed it here the other day....)!

Rubycon and Ricochet were too obvious for my list I guessLOL

Still can't get into Malicorne, although I must admit to only having heard one of their albums. I have been told that it's their best, so I think I'll just refrain from trying them again.

We love Obras de Violeta Parra (which was released a few years later) even better than Alturas, but will definitely check out El Indio. Such a great band, deserving of much more praise in the prog community!

Cheers!
I'm not really sure I'd like Malicorne that much if I came to know them now (i'm not really a folkie), but I guess they hit me at the right moment and they sort of stuck Smile
Their best would be 'Almanach' of course!
