The Antechamber Of Being. Released on Oct 23rd 2014 – The much anticipated debut solo album from the band’s main composer and keys player Stewart Bell, is a prog rock opera featuring five vocalists; Simone Rossetti, Arjen Anthony Lucassen, Bekah Mhairi Comrie, Phil Allen and Stewart himself. The story is based on his own experiences as a lifelong lucid dreamer and follows the adventures of a young boy as he grows up and masters the ability to control his dreams.

Stewart has also produced a 28 page picture book entitled “The Cupboard of Fear” to accompany this release. Available seperately this 23 x 18 cm full colour storybook chronicles the events from the first song on this epic concept album. It contains 12 original drawings by Stewart Bell and tells the story of the main character, The Dreamer, as he takes control of his dreams and becomes lucid for the first time.

Both are available from the band's website www.citizencain.nl where you also can listen to previews of the tracks or read a preview of the storybook.

Suggested for inclusion in our database last week: http://www.progarchives.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=100125. It hasn't gone any further as yet due to lack of any complete samples for the evaluation teams to listen to, and the thread has only had 36 views so far. I have added you to progfreak.com in readiness for the evaluation (unless this goes to the Symphonic or Eclectic teams - neither of whom use progfreak to track their evaluations): http://progfreak.com/Stewart-Bell-160152.html. Any assistance you might be able to provide regarding samples would be very much appreciated. I will almost certainly be buying this CD for my collection in due course, but only after I've heard at least half of the tracks on it in full. Embarrassed

Thanks for your help yam yam, what would be required samples wise and where should i send them? Also, where would you suggest I post full tracks for people like yourself who'd like to hear them before buying?

The evaluation teams would ideally like to hear the whole album in order to be able to accurately assess which was the most suitable sub genre to include you in. The most commonly used ways to provide full samples for people like me, who like to hear a fair proportion of material from an unknown artist in full before buying it, are the ubiquitous YouTube I suppose, or far better - by putting the album up on bandcamp.com (where you can sell it both digitally - and in virtually any format the end user requires too - as well as on CD...and at the same time let people hear it in full before buying). They do all the work for you once you have provided them with a single lossless file. An excellent distibution platform indeed! More info here: https://bandcamp.com/artists. Another good alternative is to use soundcloud. Or there are the options of places like spotify, deezer, or progstreaming of course. Thumbs Up

I got this CD alongside 50 odd other promos that arrived in a few days span a week or two ago. Once I'll get to this specific album and I have formed an opinion on a suitable placement in the database here I'll submit the suggestion with an appropriate amount of samples to the genre team in question - if that sounds OK.

thanks for the advice yamyam and thanks for your help windhawk. Can this at least be linked from the Citizen Cain page? I (Stewart Bell) consider this to be the next C-Cain release, the only difference being that Cyrus is not on vocals and, with myself having been the main composer this is really the next evolutionary step for C-Cain. It wouldnt be very prudent to start from scratch with a solo career...?

It shouldn't take that long before there's an entry for Stewart Bell in the database here that can be linked to. I'd wait for that to happen. Merely stating that there's an ongoing discussion about the inclusion of an artist to a website doesn't really help all that much - apart from perhaps adding a slight level of extra importance to progarchives as a website.

As far as marketing goes, I'd get in touch with progstreaming.com at this point to have them run a small streaming campaign there. I believe one week is the shortest and 8 weeks the longest you can have an album up there, with links to websites and stores and such it is a fairly useful system. When it's an option that was good enough for Ian Anderson it should be good enough for just about any others as well. To my knowledge it's still free to use too :-)

Of course. You did send me a copy a while back, and I have the simple policy of reviewing everything sent to me. It won't happen for a while though I'm afraid, as I have received -a lot- of promos in the last few months, with a list of 250 or so albums to listen to and work my way through at present.
