I know this is mentioned somewhere but I cannot find the info.  When is a member eligible to vote in polls?

I think that you become a groupie after 40 posts.

You must first proof you are not a Genesis fanboy or an ELP spammer, we must be carefull who we let in as to not skew the results. I once heard it was 5 posts or more, but seing you have seventeen and you wouldn't be asking if you could I don't know. off course you need be online and logged on.

That's a shame, I think polls are an easy entry point for joining on the forum and getting into the conversation.

I hope they (the powers that be and sometimes are) will change it so everyone can join in on the polls again.

why should goodwilling newbie's who are our future old school forumdwellers suffer because of the idiocity of people who don't care about global warming at our poles, and don't understand the outcome of the poll isn't half as important as some of the idea's that get swopped during eventual discussion/discourse etcetera.

I am all in favour of reopening polls for everyone.

I think the problem isn't necessarily that we don't want newbies to vote, it's that we want to make it harder for people to start up multiple accounts to abuse the polls.

Conversely, I sat on my account for about 2 years 3 years, just participating in polls every once in a while and only putting down a couple posts.  When the new policy started, it was extra incentive for me to come out and start chatting.

Did somebody say Brain Salad Cryme? LOL

"I think that you become a groupie after 40 posts."

Thanks.  It's nice to know where the goal post is.  I can be patient.
