Any word of a new album from them Ian?  I had hoped I haven't finally discovered them as they were exiting stage left. I'd like to see what they do with that bombshell of a guitarist. LOL She is still with the group right?

Last time I talked to Alec he said they were working on new material so I believe they are in the early stages of a new album. Gillian is certainly still in the band from posts I've seen recently.

Thumbs Up  awesome!  Thanks Ian.  Hard to keep up with the group as it doesn't look like they've updated their website in a long time, at least last time I checked. which wasn't that long ago.

YES!! I had planned to get tickets for France anyways during that time as it's my cousins wedding.  Wouldn't miss this for anything.

Another sweet lineup, another missed one for me. Ouch
Dig me...But don't...Bury me
I'm running still, I shall until, one day, I hope that I'll arrive

Ditto. Hope one day we'll be able to go... For the time being, we will have to settle for ProgDayWink.

yeah.. good point... one thing I'm sure RIOfest doesn't have. Hippy chicks, the wonderful aroma of pot smoke, and CAROLINA BBQ!  umm ummmm.  All enjoyed while being cooked alive in 90 degree heat with 90% humidity hahaha

man...nothing pains me more than being unable to go to this year after year...but the wife does not think international airfare is a reasonable concert expense...

It's not a concert it's a festival. It's really 3 concerts all rolled into one. :)

I'm fortunate that my wife considers my two trips to Europe without her each year a sacrifice she's prepared to make for my sanity. She travels herself without me so we're happy to meet each others needs.

More news from Michel - this is going to be a trip.

R.I.O 2015.
Important information !!!
The concert of Art Zoyd will last 2 hours (in two parts) is the retrospective of 45 years of the band. Art Zoyd will consist of eight musicians whose Zaboitzeff Thierry and Jean-Pierre Soarez (the original training) and led by Gerard Hourbette (also a member of the 1st training). Daniel Denis (Univers Zero) is also part of this exceptional line up. A unique event.

I'm going to be travelling around Europe in September, and am extremely excited to attend this festival. I was wondering if anyone could tell me where the best place to stay during the festival was (on the grounds themselves, in neighboring towns etc) ?

Thanks in advance

I typically stay on the grounds at L'Auberge, it is very basic but it's right next to the venue & I like the convenience

Albi is a beautiful little medieval town where a lot of people stay & there is transport laid on every day to and from the festival

I've stayed at this hotel in Albi which is very nice and there will be other festival goers staying there
