Hi everyone. I've just registered here, though I've been reading articles and forum posts here on and off for several years now.

Musically, my tastes are pretty much all over the place, from Italian Baroque (hence the username) to noise rock, with a sprinkling of vaguely and not-so-vaguely proggy stuff here and there. As far as pure, undeniably prog stuff goes, I like a lot of stuff by Renaissance and King Crimson. A lot of the music I love seems to be on the fringes of what is considered prog here - Roxy Music, Kate Bush, David Sylvian, Nine Inch Nails, Dead Can Dance, as well as lots of stuff which is, if not prog, certainly experimental and progressive - Grimes, This Mortal Coil, Austra, Cocteau Twins, Chelsea Wolfe, to name a few.

Anyway, I'm looking forward to contributing to the forum and maybe discovering some new music along the way.

WelcomeSmile! We do share a lot of the same tastes, as King Crimson are my fav prog band, and I also love a lot of stuff that is considered at best prog-related. As a matter of fact, we are listening to Roxy Music just now!

As far as I can tell, PA prioritizes inclusivity over "purity", which means you'll find here a lot of high quality music that is normally not considered straight "prog" (e.g. select fusion, modal, neo-classical,symph/art rock etc. albums).

I am wondering what flavor of KC is your favorite, or which incarnation.
