From the Heavy Prog Conference we have one of the greats from the 70's

From England

URIAH HEEP!!!

From the Heavy Prog Conference we have one of the most dynamic of modern groups.

From the U.S

THE MARS VOLTA!!!

Vegas oddmakers have The Mars Volta as a 10 vote favorite but can Uriah Heep bring an upset? Is PA's filled with 50 year old plus geezers? Of course it can LOL

Neither band that important to me, I probably prefer UH so I'll go with them.

Well, even if I am a 50+ geezerette Tongue, my vote goes to the mighty Mars Volta - a band I fell in love with instantaneously when I first heard Frances the Mute. Yes, they are an acquired taste, and not the most consistent of bands material-wise, but they possess that indefinable "something" that appeals to me. I do like UH a lot too, but I have always felt that Deep Purple were the benchmark for that particular style.

The Heep are probably more important historically but I enjoy TMV much more.

Not a huge Heep fan but I don't like Mars Volta at all.

Salisbury was one of my first prog albums via my father.

Easy vote plus perhaps I'm old, but TMV never connected with me.

As classic as Heep are and I do enjoy them sometimes, it's definitely TMV for me.

I should like Heep but apart from one album i'm not much of a fan. The Mars Volta excite me and although I find their music difficult at times it is extremely engaging.

Definitely TMV. I'm not a big fan of Uriah Heep. TMV can be hit or miss, but I have a lot of respect for their music.

The Heep have Salisbury, with one of the best prog suites ever... but Volta's got Deloused, Frances, Amputecture, and Nocturniquet.

Mars.
