Which keepers of the burning pipe and incense do you fancy? The Moodys or Procol Harum?

Now in this instance I will go for the Moodies. Much appreciation for PH but "Shine on Brightly" is the only album I truly love. Whereas Moody Blues made several of my favorite albums.

Procol for me easily.  I have most of their albums but all I need from the Moody's was the greatest hits Big smile

^  That's too bad.  The Moodies (my vote) gave us lots of great album tracks.

PH, again A Whiter Shade of Pale kicks all other Moody Blues songs out of the ball park ALONE.

Moodies for sure.

Moodies from '67 to '72, far more consistent than Procol.

Moodies were more consistent (in their prime at least) and have a more defined sound, but PH have equally impressive highs. Moodies it is, but PH rule too.

Yes, and it's brilliant.
But Procol has Procol Harum, Shine On Brightly, A Salty Dog and Grand Hotel, not to mention some great tracks on Home and Broken Barricades and Live with the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra.
That's about 5-1 for Procol as far as I'm concerned.

Procol Harum, even if they did beat my beloved IQ.

The Moodies are good, though.

Moodys, due to their big 7.  Procol had a great first album but was hit and miss after that.  They do have a lot of great songs though

toughest poll for me so far ..

but I went with Procol Harum - due to my love for the Grand Hotel album alone.
