Songs From the Wood is wonderful, but let's be serious; Bohemian Rhapsody is absolutely astonishing. |
I agree with all of this. Maybe I heard BR a little bit too much in my life to be really shaken by it anymore, but I listened to it many times with a shiver down the spine. SFTW is great, though!

Disparate compositions. I prefer Tull.

BhoRhap has been soooo flogged to death, I cringe whenever I hear it. Plus it was in that dumb film I could never get into.........Wayne's World (or whatever it was)..... Easy vote for SFTW. Never tire of that song/album.

Queen, Bohemian Rhapsody.

Bohemian Rhapsody is great and all, I mean really f**king fantastic, but It's far too overplayed, and that's a shame. Voted Songs From the Wood because it's a great track and I'll actually feel like listening to it sometime in the future, unlike Bohemian Rhapsody.

I
can guarantee you that this is the only place where Jethro Tull has a chance of
beating Queen. That's just another reason to love this place.

In general I prefer Tull to Queen, but when it comes to overblown vocal epics Bohemian Rhapsody wins hands down.

Both are "overblown" as SteveG put it. I'm Luke warm at best with both. I voted for Songs From the Wood to try to just tie it up.

You'd have to get Gentle Giant to beat Queen in the "multi-vocal" department. BR is obviously the better song. |
Come to think of it, the "Galileo" section does sound like it was influenced by Gentle Giant.
Back on topic... Really, do I have to choose? I can't do it; both songs are fantastic.
